Maternity Pictures With Horses at High Horse Malibu
Let me introduce you to Bridget, one of my best friends and favorite people to get extra with. If you know us, you know we never do things halfway… especially when it comes to capturing her pregnancies.
We ran off to the desert for some dreamy Joshua Tree magic for baby number one. With her second, we hit the moody Oregon coast at Cannon Beach. And now, for baby number three, we brought it back to California with maternity pictures with horses in Malibu because we’re cowgirls now. (We’ve got the boots to prove it.)
Each session has had its own vibe, but this one just felt so her—a little wild, a little glam, and super grounded (literally... we were standing in the dirt with a horse). It was earthy, soft, and strong all at once. Bridget, in a nutshell.
A Cowgirl at Heart: Bridget’s Maternity Pictures With Horses
High Horse Malibu was the spot. There were golden hills, soft grass swaying, and a perfect sunset glow. When we were brainstorming where to go this time, we knew we wanted something that felt a little rugged but still beautiful, and the second we saw High Horse, it was a no-brainer. Horses, rolling pastures, and dreamy light? Sold. We’ve been low-key pretending we were cowgirls for a while now, but this shoot made it official. Cue the yeehaw.
Let’s talk about the lewks. We started with a soft, romantic white lace dress while the kids played. It was giving full, earthy goddess energy—ethereal, calm, and so beautiful. Then came the trench coat, black rain boots, and a bare baby bump. She made maternity look like a Vogue cover. And the finale—all black, from head to toe. It was moody, bold, and badass.
If you love this session as much as I do, you’ll love Maggie’s maternity photos with horses, too!
Maternity Session at High Horse Malibu
Let’s go ahead and say it: the horse was not just for aesthetics. It brought this grounded, peaceful energy to the session, like the calm center of it all, which was honestly the perfect vibe. Real moments made this shoot special—the kids were getting their hands dirty, and her partner was right by her side.
We’ve done this three times now, and somehow, it just keeps getting better. There’s something about documenting Bridget’s motherhood journey each time that feels so layered. Every shoot has its own story, season, and energy. Life is chaotic. Motherhood is nonstop. And somehow, in the middle of it all, Bridget makes space to create intentionally. And I feel so lucky every time I get to witness her evolve. We always find a way to make something magical together—and I hope we never stop.
Bridget is the coolest cowgirl mama I know. Truly. If you’ve ever wanted maternity pictures with horses (or without; I won’t judge), but more importantly, photos that feel like you and are true to this wild season you’re in, I’d love to help bring them to life.
